Rive extendable table

For the Rive collection, the studio’s ideas naturally focused on highlighting the woodwork, particularly in the table’s structure and base. One of the main technical challenges: the subtle yet complex joints between the legs and the crosspiece, which blend harmoniously into each table end. This is a key element in the design of the collection, providing aesthetic coherence while guaranteeing the necessary solidity of the structure.Another challenge was to maintain continuity of level between the crosspieces and the tabletop. The precision of these joints was crucial to maintaining the balance between visual elegance and functional robustness.
For the extendable version, the weight of the solid wood structure had to be reconciled with the need to make the extension system easy and intuitive to deploy. The challenge was twofold: to guarantee the stability of the table, while at the same time enabling easy, fluid handling of the extension leaves. This required careful thought to be given to the extension mechanisms, so that each table offers a practical user experience and meticulous design.
